UPDATE: I was able to lay down with Olivia and sleep an extra 3 hours! I feel much better. I cancelled my tour for today and am going to stay in and rest. THANK YOU for your prayers...I'm feeling them! Please pray for Christine, Raymond and their daughter Nicole. This is their first child and she is not doing well. LOTS of crying. It's normal but Christine is SO stressed. The other families here and the other adoption workers are amazed at how well Olivia is adjusting. She has her moments, trust me, but God is really being so gracious to us both!
Please continue to pray for Olivia. God is obviously answering. Also, please pray for me because I am getting sick. I simply cannot sleep more than a few hours. I should have taken a nap yesterday but my day was full and I had no time. I can't tell yet if it's stomach or respritory. I started drinking my Airborne again and also started on my antibiotic. I hope those will knock this out. I know that I need sleep or it will just get worse but I am wide awake by 2 am. My sleep mask normally gives me a great nights sleep but it was stolen at one of the airports. I'm also not eating. I am literally living on fried rice and ham bits. I cannot eat the Chinese food. Today I am going to KFC and bring a bucket of chicken back to the hotel to put in the fridge.

Lynn,
Please try and get some rest. The time change is really hard to adjust to. We had to take sleeping pills to get sleep while in China. I know what you are going through with the food issue. I lived on Gatorade the whole 2 weeks because I just could not eat the food! Stay hydrated and get some rest...you need to be at your best for Olivia! Hugs and prayers!
Last year at this time, we were in China to meet our beautiful daughter. Ever since we started this process, I have been somewhat “addicted” to these journals.
I found your blog through “China Adoption Stories” and felt compelled to tell you that the photos of the day you met your daughter brought me to tears. Your face so very clearly reflects the emotions felt by all of us during that initial meeting. Your daughter’s facial expressions during these first few days also remind me so much of my own daughter. I was so worried about her, I wondered if she’d ever forgive me for taking her away from everything she has ever known. I am happy to report that one year later, she is a happy, rambunctious little girl who loves her dogs, coloring in her Sesame Street coloring book and singing along with the Backyardigans.
Please hang in there and know that a complete stranger is praying for you!
We are praying! Try to sleep every time Olivia sleeps!
His mercies are new every morning!
Your daughter is beautiful and seems to be adjusting well. Keep up the good work and hang in there. There is an american style restaurant just down the street from the White Swan if that is where you are staying in Guongzhou. It is called Lucy's and you can get carry out.
Good luck and we are praying for you.

Lynn,
I will pray for you. Like someone said try to rest everytime she sleeps. Yes, and Amen, His mercies are new each day. Thank you Lord. We will pray for your strength and health to get stronger for each day.

Lynn,
I started my day in prayer for you and Olivia today. Our Sunday school leader always reminds us of our great Jehovah-Rapha - the LORD Who heals. May God bless your upcoming days with energy and strength and nights with His peace and may you find rest in Him!
Lynn:
We're still praying for you. Keep trying to sleep as much as you can and stay hydrated! I hope you start to feel better very soon. Keep us posted and we'll keep praying!
Love you,
Anna & Bob
Oh Lynn, the national news put Guangzhou in the headlines because of the weather, the holiday and the thousands of stranded migrant workers. I guess that is another thing to put in your book for Olivia. I'll be praying hard for your health, as well as your adjustment all over again when you get home. Say Hi to Olivia on behalf of all of us people writing on your site!

So glad to hear that you have been able to get a little sleep and that you decided to stay in today and care for yourself. Our prayers continue to go with you,
Lynn and Steve
Please try to sleep whenever she does. I have heard of people getting both respiratory infections and stomach ailments there.
It's great that you have some antibiotics with you.
I'm praying for you too Lynn! Take care of yourself. I know how you feel. I'm glad that you have medicine though.
